Summer Work
#1 Creating a new character
I decided to create a new character since it would mean I could use my creativity and imagination whilst starting from scratch. I could explore other worlds and i could create a universe around the new character.
I enjoyed the creation aspect of the task, yet drawing the character was harder, having to decide the style in which the character would be represented in. Though it had to be done first, since it would be easier to create a backstory and role without having limitations.
#2 Taking a picture of an outfit with meaning
I wanted to take a picture of a meaningful outfit since i wanted to show that a prom dress was valuable to me. It is from a turning point in my life where I started life after GCSE`s. The outfit was also the last special occasion my dad was at home for, since he was moved into care the the next day. it was a time for celebration and remembrance. It wasn't difficult for me to obtain this image a there where plenty of photos taken and I hadn't rented out the dress, so I had a chance to take pictures out of the dress.
#3 Drawing a screen from a film/video game/TV series
I chose to draw a screen from the Korean film 'Hyung' since I have the passion for film and had completed the art GCSE and it was a clear shot of the two main characters. It was challenging because it was harder to capture the exact image with tonal pencils and I am more skilled at oil painting.
#4 Customising clothing
I was interested in making an item of clothing my own and unique to me, so I brought some patches which i was able to either sew or iron on. i also wanted to add more, so I embroidered logos onto the pocket of the jacket, this I found the most challenging aspect since I can't sew very well.
#5 Listened to a podcast
I had never listened to a podcast before, thus I wanted to see what the trend was about. There were plenty about which demonstrated the amount you could listen to throughout your day. It was easy since I could listen to this during other activities throughout the summer.
